What We Do
We deliver high-quality, holistic services to people seeking asylum in Hong Kong, and build professional ecosystems that deliver high-quality services. We facilitate refugee participation and leadership, as a fundamental, cross-cutting approach to everything that we do.
Our Approach
We believe that a fair chance for refugees depends on both strong systems and strong communities. Our work is anchored around six key pillars:
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟏: 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬
We provide specialist legal and psychosocial services, and community support to people seeking asylum in Hong Kong.
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟐: 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
We provide clear information to all who seek our assistance; identify protection needs; assess vulnerabilities and other risk factors; and prioritise cases with the greatest protection needs. We help people understand the strengths, weaknesses and practical realities of their case.
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟑: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭
We focus intensive legal support where it can make a meaningful difference: in cases with the highest protection needs, cases where clients have significant vulnerabilities or cases with potential impact for the broader protection system.
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟒: 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭
We treat people seeking protection as whole human beings, combining legal support with mental health, welfare and community-based assistance.
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟓: 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲
We support refugee-led community development so that people with lived experience can shape the support they receive, strengthen their own communities, and contribute their knowledge, leadership and skills to Hong Kong.
𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝟔: 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠
We strengthen sector-wide legal and psychosocial capacity through trainings, resources and technical support.
Each year, this work helps hundreds of people move from displacement, destitution and trauma toward stability, agency and protection.
